West Virginia Army National Guard

Why Your Referral Matters

Recruiters can knock on doors. But you can open them. When you reach out to someone you know — someone who trusts you — that conversation carries weight no advertisement ever could. Your story, your experience, your endorsement is the most powerful recruiting tool we have.
The West Virginia Army National Guard is only as strong as the Soldiers in it. Help us build the next generation of West Virginia’s finest.

You Already Know Who's Ready.

You’ve served alongside the best. You know the kind of people who have what it takes — the ones in your hometown, your circle, your life who’d thrive in the Guard. Now it’s time to bring them in. The Grow the Force program puts the power of recruitment in your hands. No one sells the Guard better than someone who lives it

Eligibility Criteria

To refer someone through WVEE, you must:

• Be a current WVARNG Soldier, a Prior Service Army or Air National Guard member who has honorably retired or discharged, or an eligible participant in the “Buddy Program”
• Not be affiliated with or living with a member of the WV RRB
• Not be affiliated with ROTC as instructor/contractor (e.g., PMS, APMS, ROO)

WVEE referrals are valid for 1 year (based on the submission date on the lead form on this website). For a referral to be valid:

 • Lead types must meet RZ eligibility windows:
     ◦ Applicants: 6 months since last RZ action
     ◦ Prospects & Leads: 30 days since last RZ action
• WVEE Form 1 must be signed by the WVEE Recruiter, the lead, and the RRNCO
• WVEE payments are not taxed, but Soldiers will receive a 1099
• WVEE awards are presented in person (mailed to HOR for retirees)

Who Should You Refer?

Think about the people in your life who

Are driven, disciplined, and ready for a challenge

Want to serve their state and country without leaving their community

Are looking for education benefits, career development, or a sense of purpose

Would thrive in a team-first environment

If someone comes to mind — reach out. Make the introduction. Pass the word.
